To all the Derbys we’ve Loved Before…

Wednesday, I took the opportunity to deliver some homemade Bourbon Balls to several of my agents throughout the Louisville area. My morning took me from the inset of our neighborhood in St. Matthews, out past Goshen and into Pleasureville. As is often common of Spring in Kentucky, the weather ...

2020 Speed Ball

Once again, Bryan and I made our way to the Speed on Saturday to attend their annual fundraiser, the Speed Ball. Dinner before, for the two of us, was at Bistro Le Relais, a sweet little French restaurant tucked into the airport Bowman Field. After laughing, hugging, dancing the night at the ...

The Firstiversary

Bryan and I knew that there would be a few hiccups in getting married so close to the holidays. It would be hard to take an anniversary trip because that would mean spending time away from family. Gifts? They'd be given two days before Christmas. No matter what, we know that our real wedding ...

Our Wedding: The Flowers

All I can say is that we are so, so lucky to have a friend in Bridget down at Mahonia Studio. When we settled on a Chicago elopement, I knew Christmas was the perfect time- the city lights up, the skies turn a silvery blue-gray, and Champagne becomes immediately appropriate for every day. ...

Our Wedding: The Paper

I realize that some folks may think that spending money on paper is ridiculous, but I love good stationery. I write an average of 10 notes a week, always send birthday and anniversary cards, leave love notes for the Hubbo, and have personalized notecards for every day use. To me, the paper I use ...

Our Wedding: The Outfits

It makes any bride giddy to hear folks compliment her wedding day attire! Bryan and I have gotten so many compliments on what we wore for our big day- I wanted to share a few details. My dress was Joanna August from Nordstrom. Sadly, the website only had a teeny size I couldn't have fit ...

Our Wedding: The Story

Oh, sweet readers, I can't tell you how long I've been waiting to post something like this! December 23rd, Bryan and I had the best day of our lives, waking up in our Chicago hood to walk to brunch at Hashbrowns before spending an hour or so wandering around book shopping. At 2:30, however, we met ...

A Note on Christmas: Cedar, a Shag Rug, and my Emotional Undoing

Each year, around September, I begin brainstorming that year's holiday decor. Moodboards are pieced together on Pinterest, showing topiaries made of tangerines, Aerin Lauder's New York home, gifts wrapped in a multitude of coordinating papers... This year, my heart settled on really decking out ...

To the Fathers

There's something to be said about the men in our lives. The ones who held our hands as we learned to walk, who handed us the keys to an old Oldsmobile on a Sunday afternoon when we were 14. There's a strength in an opinion unmarred by fluff, and heart-to-hearts against a stubbly cheek. There's ...

Wishing you the most beautiful Christmas. This yea Wishing you the most beautiful Christmas. This year hasn’t been the easiest on anyone, and the holidays may be difficult. I hope you find the light this season, and that even if Christmas Day is spent alone, I hope that the quiet and the snow, the light of the tree and the music on the radio provide a heart full of love.

Covid), I still wanted to throw some inspiration out there. This is my favorite Thanksgiving tablescape from 2017. This table is on the blog now! Cheers, y’all.

So hard to believe our gorgeous home is on the mar So hard to believe our gorgeous home is on the market... so many years here, and so many changes in our lives. This house has seen the loss of both our dogs, both my parents. We celebrated our engagement here, came home happy and silly after a Christmas elopement. Thanksgiving here has been full of Bourbon and friends and Trivial Pursuit. This has been my happy place for the better part of a decade.

Going to sleep tonight in hopes of the right buyer who will love these walls as much as we have 💕
