Coronado Update

Firstly, an apology for running a little late with our monthly house update. I had quite a few big work changes over the last couple of weeks and have been a little distracted! Still, there's a ton to update you on, so here we go! In the last week or so, most of the interior doors have been ...

Derby, 96 Days Out

HOW?!!?! I repeat.... HOW?! did I miss my 100 days from Derby post??? Could it be possible that it's been dang near 2 years since we were able to really celebrate the greatest two minutes in sports? Perhaps we're all in a Covid haze, and completely unaware of what day of the week it is (or ...

Looking/Cooking Forward

Admittedly, the last 3 months, our diets have been anything but healthy. Anything but homemade. Other than the Thanksgiving day turkey meatball washing-the-dishes-in-the-bathtub attempt, we've been surviving off of microwavable foods and takeout. We finally have some sort of light at the end of ...

Farming: A Handbook by Wendell Berry: Each time Bryan and I head to Carmichael's Bookstore for anything, I almost always grab a book of poetry by Kentucky's own Wendell Berry. There's something about the movement in his words and the romanticism he displays while describing the smell of soil or the ...

Resolve

I had to laugh at myself that when we walked into 2020, I said that my word for the year would be Contentment. I was happy with my house, my job, my car... And somehow, throughout the year, all of that changed. Well, my car didn't, but B's car did. I was content with all I had. Our home was ...

The Christmas Table

Rather than setting a table of our own this year for the holidays, I have the feeling we'll be ordering in Chinese... Or making something simple at home (grilled cheese and tomato soup?). Instead of leaving you hanging, though, I'm harkening back to 2018 to bring you my favorite Christmas Table. ...

Deck the Halls!

All, just as at Thanksgiving, we're still up to our armpits in construction here at the new house. We're camping out on the second floor, living apartment-like in two bedrooms, and while I wish there were room for a tree and wreaths, ribbon and our brass deer, there's just not. We do have Bobo, ...

Maybe it’s due to an overactive mind, a desire to feel like I’m influencing someone, or perhaps, it’s simply that I need to talk.

Looking for Something?

A friend of mine asked me recently if we’d final A friend of mine asked me recently if we’d finally built our dream kitchen. It’s close. It’s pretty darn close. Carrara marble everywhere, beveled subway tile backsplash, black Bertazzoni range... it’s pretty close 💕

Wrapped up the first week of the new year by worki Wrapped up the first week of the new year by working from home, setting intention for 2021, and planning client parties, holiday gatherings. Hoping your new year is off to the best start. Cheers, y’all.
Wishing you the most beautiful Christmas. This yea Wishing you the most beautiful Christmas. This year hasn’t been the easiest on anyone, and the holidays may be difficult. I hope you find the light this season, and that even if Christmas Day is spent alone, I hope that the quiet and the snow, the light of the tree and the music on the radio provide a heart full of love.
While the man and I aren’t really doing a beauti While the man and I aren’t really doing a beautiful table setting this year (we have paper plates and a folding table), or roasting a huge bird and hosting 20 people for board games and bourbon (it’ll be turkey meatballs for two, because... Covid), I still wanted to throw some inspiration out there. This is my favorite Thanksgiving tablescape from 2017. This table is on the blog now! Cheers, y’all.

So hard to believe our gorgeous home is on the mar So hard to believe our gorgeous home is on the market... so many years here, and so many changes in our lives. This house has seen the loss of both our dogs, both my parents. We celebrated our engagement here, came home happy and silly after a Christmas elopement. Thanksgiving here has been full of Bourbon and friends and Trivial Pursuit. This has been my happy place for the better part of a decade.

Going to sleep tonight in hopes of the right buyer who will love these walls as much as we have 💕
