For months- MONTHS!- I’ve been going on and on about wanting to get the back yard finished. I wanted to paint the planters, touch up the paint on the furniture, lay the sod, and find flowers that would not only look pretty but could serve as a centerpiece on a fun backyard lunch table.
Voila!
Please ignore the patch of dry sod by the downspout. Every home we’ve ever lived in has had a patch of dry grass that Kent claims as his spot. It’s as if he has to check in to his spot before and after each pee. He’s a weird little dog.
The table and chairs came from Target in 2010, the planters are from Garden Ridge, also 2010, but were beige, and have been painted black. The funky little lion serves his purpose by freaking out the dog.
We had such great weather this week that I decided to try out The Coveteur’s Best Kale Salad Ever (which is easily the best kale salad ever. Find the recipe here), grab some fresh ciabatta and garlic stuffed olives, and carry my tiny midday feast outside.
