Finally, friends. Finally, there’s a light at the end of the scorching hot Kentucky summer, coaxing me out of my air conditioning and onto patios and into gardens, enjoying afternoon bites and beers.
To me, there’s nothing better than winding down a workday with a cool drink and a sweet friend, and one of my favorite spots has been The Holy Grale. With a huge beer selection (the owners are also the force behind Nulu’s Louisville Beer Store and gralehaus, home to the best grits you’ll ever eat), and a rotating menu of small plates and shareables like the perfect pretzel and beer cheese, poutine, and fresh salads, the Grale has been the perfect spot in Louisville to pause for a break.
I love this time of year, folks. The weather breaking is my happy time. The days I can plop down with a girlfriend or a book, grab a drink, and relax without fear of sweat, sunburn, or mosquitos are my favorites. Need a suggestion on what to drink? Wander into the Grale, and ask for Lucy. She’ll find you the perfect flavors, and offer up and heirloom tomato and peach salad… or something just as tasty. I promise.
