Bryan and I just got back from our annual trip to Southern California, and this year, we called it a honeymoon. It was a little scary, the first day or two, south of the Angeles forest, seeing the wildfires there, and waking up to the snow cover of ash on our car and patio furniture, but we were able to spend time with friends in the Pasadena area and visit with a friend and client of mine in La Verne before taking off into the sweet Labor Day-week quiet of Palm Springs.
We had decided a few months ago to forgo our usual stay at the Parker Palm Springs for somewhere a little less Instagrammed, a little quieter, and a little more vintage. We checked in to said other place and immediately checked back out. As lovely as this place was, it just wasn’t the comfortable and secluded vibe that we’re used to at the Parker, so back we went to Jonathan Adler’s happy hideaway, perched in one of the poolside suites, tucked beneath Bougainivllea.
I’m going to give you a full run down of a new restaurant we tested out (and fell in love with) a new, only-an-hour-or-so-long adventure we took ourselves on, and a quick run-through of everything else in a few posts to come. Before then, though, I have a very special listing to share with you on Thursday. Stay tuned, everyone!
