Admittedly, I am not a Valentine’s Day person. Bryan and I even moved our dating anniversary (or, Firstiversary, as we call it) to March 1st from February 17th to get it out of February completely. This is a month when I typically lay low, and let the red roses and teddy bear balloons float by, but in the last few years, I’ve been drawn to that less-celebrated, Parks and Recreation-created holiday, Galentine’s Day.
I’m so stinking fortunate to be as surrounded as I am by strong and wonderful women. My office has a brilliant team of ladies on our leadership staff. My mother-in-law is a saint who should be celebrated. My close girlfriends- spread far and wide- constantly surprise me with their ambition and dreams. Why shouldn’t there be a day to toast them? And, why shouldn’t there be a list of girly, wonderful gifts to send their way?
To write a note of thanks for their friendship, this sweet bubbly card from Missive Press.
For lighting up their bathroom prior to a much-needed bubble bath, this heavenly candle from Diptyque smells just heavenly.
And for that relaxing soak, this bath fizzy (which I use every Sunday), or this bath soak would up the ante!
For the Southerner, this monogrammed julep cup would be pretty perfect. Send it full of her favorite flower (cough, ranunculus, cough).
For the makeup maven, this eyeshadow palette from Gucci has the most beautiful packaging I’ve ever seen.
For the one who always has some sort of scent on hand, this pocket sized perfume from Aerin is easy to pop in a purse, a desk drawer, or a makeup bag.
For the most well-manicured of your friend group, this polish from Hermes is getting rave reviews (and that Orange Brûlée color is to die for!).
And, for the girls local here in Louisville who deserve something truly special, try this monthly flower subscription package from Bloomed Roots to make her smile the whole year through!
Would you rather spend time together than gift a gift? Set a table inspired by this one I pulled together a few years ago, and toast to some fabulous friendships.
To my girls- my colleagues, my friends, my family- I love you. Happy Galentine’s Day!
